Dense fog blanketed large parts of north India on Sunday, disrupting flight and train operations in cities including Delhi, Lucknow, Amritsar and Chandigarh. Visibility at the Indira Gandhi International Airport dropped sharply in the early morning hours, leading to delays and cancellations of several domestic and international flights. Rail authorities reported that over 40 long-distance trains were running late due to poor visibility along key routes. Traffic police in Delhi issued advisories urging motorists to drive cautiously and use fog lights. Weather officials said the fog was caused by low wind speeds and high moisture levels, conditions expected to persist for several days.
